Our Team

 

The Executive Team, National Secretariat, and the Research and Development Teams of the PHILGBC are the support systems that enable the Council's events and endeavors to move forward.

 

EXECUTIVE TEAM

Christopher C. dela Cruz, Chief Executive Officer

Chris is currently the President and Chairman of the PHILGBC.  He co-founded Ecotektonika, Inc., a multidisciplinary sustainability consultancy firm focused on the development of sustainable designs and strategies for the built environment. Chris has worked independently with public and private organizations that promote appropriate sustainable practices and strategies to urban and rural settings. His technical expertise includes design, evaluation and project management of environmental management projects. He actively contributes to several government programs and committees and has provided opinion in the ongoing development of policy in the area of sustainable building.

Chris believes that for sustainability to progress, solutions must be holistic. He is presently designing the nationwide campaign for Filipinos to ECOSHIFT --- shift from unsustainable practices to actions that are sensitive to environment.  Chris is an active member of the United Architects of the Philippines and the Solid Waste Management Association of the Philippines. 

  

NATIONAL SECRETARIAT

Ma. Anna G.Tungol, Executive Director, National Secretariat

Anna is an Information Management Specialist with over fourteen years of international experience working with various stakeholder communities in identifying information management needs.  Her work experiences are mostly with donor agencies: providing technical assistance on solid waste management and organizational management; management of project funds and small grants facility, and designing of workshops and conferences. She provides trainings on solid waste management planning, organizational planning, fund management, and business planning. Her work with USAID projects provided her familiarity with its procedures and regulations.

Anna is candidate to a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Ateneo Graduate School. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information System from Assumption College.

Chester C. dela Cruz, Business Development and Communications

Chester is currently handling Communications, Membership and Industry-engagement at the PHILGBC.  Forming part of his professional background is his expertise in Sales Management, Marketing and FMCG Distribution having served as Territory Manager for Pepsi Cola Products Philippines from 2005 to 2010 and as Account Development Manager in 2002.  He also served as Partner Development Manager for Divine Mercy Marketing, Inc. (2004) and with the Center for Educational Measurement as Senior Program Assistant for Business Research and Development (2005).  Also in 2004, he served as Business and Training Consultant for InJoy Beverages, a sales and distribution partner of Pepsi Cola Products Philippines, ensuring human resource development and growth in sales and distribution. 

Chester is a graduate of BS Applied Economics from De La Salle University-Manila, and has passed the Civil Service Professional Examinations.  He is a Certified BERDE Professional, and  a member of the De La Salle University Alumni Association, and the Philippine Green Building Council.  He is currently the Vice President for JCI (Junior Chamber International)-Fort Bonifacio Taguig City.

Dennis R. Espiña, Administrative Assistant

After finishing Bachelor of Science in Information Technology in the City of Malabon University in 2010, Dennis worked for the Solid Waste Management Association of the Philippines (SWAPP) as an Information Assistant.  In July of the same year, he joined the Philippine Green Building Council as an Administrative Assistant, handling internal paperworks and administrative works for the Council's operations.

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT TEAM

Kim Paulo L. Quizon, Project Coordinator: BERDE Green Building Rating System

Kim Paulo was first involved in the PHILGBC at the Building Green 2008 Conference.  With his raised interest in learning more about green building and sustainable development, he officially joined the team in 2010 after graduating with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the Mapua Institute of Technology.  He is currently a Project Coordinator for the BERDE Green Building Rating System, and became one of the first Certified BERDE Professionals. He is also a Trainee Expert for the Puerto Princesa team of the Zero Carbon Resorts Project.

Kim Paulo is also working as an architect, and is a national officer of the United Architects of the Philippines Graduate Auxiliary.

Engell Franz T. Fagaragan, Project Coordinator: BERDE National Research Agenda (BERDE-NRA)

Angel initially joined the PHILGBC as a student assistant for the first Building Green Conference in June 2007.  Doing so for the Council in three consecutive years, her interest in green building grew as she discovered the relevance of architecture to climate change and sustainability.  Upon obtaining her degree in Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the Mapua Institute of Technology in February 2010, Angel joined the Research and Development Team of the PHILGBC for the BERDE National Research Agenda.

At present, she is an architect and a Certified BERDE Professional.  She is also part of the Zero Carbon Resorts Project as an Auditor for Architectural Design and Planning in resorts situated in Coron, Palawan.

Mario Lawrence C. Suelto, Project Coordinator: BERDE Green Building Rating System

Mario started to assist the PHILGBC during the Building Green Conference in June 2007, helping in the documentation and organization of activities and events. Continuing to help the Council until January 2010, Mario decided to officially join the PHILGBC as a Project Coordinator for the BERDE Green Building Rating System.

Currently, Mario is graduating from his Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree in Mapua Institute of Technology.
