PCA - Metropolitan Chapter to Sign MOA with PHILGBC

In light of present demands of sustainability in building and construction in the Philippines, professionals in the said field are paving the way that Filipinos may be able to live in an ecologically sound environment.

Companies and organizations continue to answer the challenge of transformation through the adaptation of greener building practices and using green technologies.

With this in mind, the Philippine Constructors Association (PCA) – Metropolitan Chapter will be signing a Memorandum of Agreement with the Philippine Green Building Council (PHILGBC) on January 17, 2010 at Bistro Mateo in Tiendesitas, Ortigas Avenue, Pasig City.

“PCA Metropolitan Chapter, as a responsible contractors group, considers it its duty to accept the challenge and take positive collective action to combat the threat of climate change and to secure a sustainable future,” states Engr. Rogelio Lim, President of PCA – Metro. “We do not only embrace this duty as citizens of the Philippines but as citizens of the world for, when we act locally our actions reverberate globally.”

The Philippine Constructors Association (PCA) – Pasig–San Juan–Mandaluyong Chapter was chartered in 1983 by a group of small and medium-size contractors and entrepreneurs aiming to “promote their welfare and advance the industry’s interests”. In 2008, the chapter realized the need to extend jurisdiction to the National Capital Region to increase its member base and serve more professionals, thus, the PCA – Metropolitan Chapter was formed in 2009.

At present, PCA – Metropolitan is the largest chapter of the organization. They are also the first contractors’ group to become an alliance partner of the PHILGBC.
