The 1st Philippine Green Jobs Conference (GJC) is a gathering of government, the private sector, employers, workers and the youth aimed at spreading awareness on how climate change affects the world of work.
Led by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the GJC seeks to develop and enhance information links among various stakeholders to identify the new jobs, skills and competencies that should be acquired to ensure a just transition toward employment-friendly resources.
With the theme: “Promoting Green Jobs and Decent Work towards Inclusive Growth,” the GJC will convene more than 300 participants at the SMX Convention Center, Seashell Drive, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City on August 15 and 16, 2011.
Co-convening the Green Jobs Conference are the Climate Change Commission (CCC), the National Youth Commission (NYC), the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).
The GJC is being supported by the International Labor Organization (ILO).
